Treatment of Parkinson’s disease
Parkinson’s disease is a neurological disease that affects the neuronal cells of the brain; it always has a destructive and progressive dynamics. It is this prognosis in the increase of symptoms, should make the patient seek treatment as soon as possible.
The main symptoms of Parkinsonism:
1) Impaired motor activity
2) Tremor of muscles at rest
3) Neurological mental disorders
There are not so many key signs, but it is almost impossible to restore the function of the motor system and neurological, because the disease is degenerative (it damages itself and has no reverse effect).
For many years, the main method of treatment was only drug antiparkinsonian therapy in combination with special physiotherapy. However, for several years now, a team of our specialists has been successfully treating and recovering patients with this disease using combination therapy methods.
Irina Mykolayivna Karaban, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head and Founder of the Ukrainian Association of Parkinsonism Patients, Honorary Member of the European Association of Parkinsonism Patients, is the curator of the treatment of patients with Parkinsonism.
How to cure or stop Parkinsonism, the treatment methodology we carry out consists of several stages of interaction.
1 Diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (laboratory and ultrasound examinations, preparation of videos from everyday life on the patient’s adaptation to society, physical activity, motor impairment, psycho-emotional state, reactions to stimuli, etc.). This stage requires both the patient and his relatives to fully assist in the correct diagnosis, open dialogues, characteristics, complaints, observations. All photo and video material is collected and sent for analysis to the professor, who analyzes all the information about the patient and makes a preliminary therapeutic dose of the necessary drug to correct and improve the patient’s condition.
2 For the first two to three weeks, under close medical supervision, the patient takes the drug in the dosage prescribed by the doctor. Previously taken drugs are reviewed (if any) and the general medications taken by the patient are corrected.
Antiparkinsonian drugs are a lifelong basis for the treatment of patients with this disease.
The initial accumulation of the drug is gained within 14-20 days, so expect early improvement is not required. During this period, the doctor determines the required dose and drug for the body, which has the most correct effect on the damaged part of the brain and slows down the destructive processes.
3 After the stage of clear determination of the drug and its dose, we suggest that the patient enter a bio-identical hormonal pellet (based on a complete comprehensive examination). The composition of the pellet is selected individually, but most often it is a component of NADH (activates memory, concentration, mental abilities, speech apparatus), testosterone (for vitality, increase vitality, relieve depression), somatotropin (for muscle tone and health) joints).
The pellet is biological, does not carry a load on the body, and does not contradict the reception of the main anti-Parkinsonian treatment. It is a component of compensatory treatment that eliminates certain symptoms and complaints of the patient. The action of one pellet is designed for 7-8 months of continuous action.
4 At the stage of 2-3 months of drug treatment, you can connect stem cell therapy.
To do this, most often use two types of cells:
– Mesenchymal from the bone marrow
– Hair follicle follicle cells
Both cell types are best suited for the regeneration of damaged nerve ending cells in the meninges.
The dosage of cell material is determined by the physician based on the patient’s condition. The introduction of the biological product is carried out intravenously. The patient does not need special rehabilitation and recovery. Cell therapy is recommended to be repeated no more often in 1-1.5 years.
Expected results from the treatment of Parkinson’s disease:
1-2 weeks – the body is still accumulating antiparkinsonian drug, there can be no special improvements (period of adaptation and dosage setting)
3-4 weeks – improvement in reducing muscle rigidity (muscle stiffness), reducing tremor, improving mental response to the world (period of dose and drug)
5-6 -week – improvement of concentration at conversation and action, improvement of memory and articulation skills, decrease in level of depression, a surge of forces and additional energy, improvement of elasticity of muscles (period of introduction of bio pellets)
week 10-11 – improvement of the general condition of the body, removal of muscle rigidity, improvement of motor function, clarity of mind and memory, improvement of language skills, maintenance of general body tone, normalization of psycho-emotional state.
After 12 weeks – remission (temporary cessation of Parkinson’s disease) the remission period in everyone lasts differently, so you can predict only in each individual case.
An important and necessary component of treatment is also physical and mental activity, it is within the power of each patient, and the result of treatment directly depends on it. The importance of these activities cannot be ruled out, because as long as you send impulses to the brain by loading it with reading, a favorite activity, you get self-activation and cell renewal. Exercising, swimming, walking, dancing – you stimulate the muscles to contract, stretch and it has a beneficial effect on reducing stiffness, to eliminate tremor.
The program of treatment and rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson’s disease is always individually selected, taking into account the current condition of the patient. Some stages of treatment can be missed or, conversely, supplemented by the necessary methods of stimulating muscular activity, musculoskeletal system, activation of tactile skills, and regulation of psychological state.
